2011-2016

Regional Coordinator                                                         US Interagency Council on Homelessness
Washington, D.C. & San Francisco, CA

I traveled throughout the United States to share information and stimulate action to end homelessness. On a given night, over 560,000 people are homeless in the United States. The United States Interagency Council on Homelessness is a federal agency in the United States which has 19 of the 22 US federal agencies on its board. The agency drives implementation of the federal plan to end homelessness and increase access to affordable housing. My work included facilitating communication between federal authorities and local partners that led to measurable results. I prepared briefings and facilitated community visits for high-level government officials so they could engage in catalytic meetings with stakeholders. Together with my team, I worked with the 19 federal agencies and the President's administration to develop, implement, and measure outcomes of policies to end homelessness. During my tenure, our agency decreased homelessness among Veterans in the United States by over 50%
